Clinton Global Initiative University - Call for student project leaders

© Clinton Global Initiative

Turn your ideas into action and win seed funding from UNIL and access to the CGIU year-round mentorship programme

The call is now closed. The next one will be open in Fall 2021.

The Clinton Global Initiative University (CGIU) is a University network aimed at engaging students around pressing global challenges in five focus areas:

  • education
  • environment and climate change
  • peace and human rights
  • poverty alleviation
  • public health

UNIL is a CGIU member, which opens opportunities for UNIL students to take their ideas forward and possibly win access to a year-round program that includes access to: high-touch mentorship; a social impact curriculum; funding streams; and student engagement events, including a CGI U annual meeting.

Check out the experience of the UNIL delegation at the San Francisco meetings.

What is in the call for projects

Students, either individually or in groups, apply by creating a Commitment to Action (action plan). These commitments should be ideas and actions that address social or environmental challenges on campuses, in communities or in different parts of the world at a small or large scale.

UNIL students whose projects are approved both by CGIU and UNIL may also win seed funding from UNIL (up to USD 2,000 per project).
